DAV Public School, Surya Vihar, Po- Tiyara, Distt- Singrauli located at a distance of 28 k.m from District Head Quarters, Waidhan was established on 26th March, 2009 with an agreement between DAV College Managing Committee, Chitragupta Road, New Delhi and Sasan Power Limited, Singrauli, M.P. A memorandum of undertaking was signed by Mr. R.S.Sharma, General Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee and Mr. M. K. Parameswaran, Senior Vice President, Sasan Power Limited. The Land and the Building and the furniture were provided by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department of Sasan Power Limited at Rehabilitation and Re-settlement colony at Surya Vihar. A Local Managing Committee, that consist of twelve members and a chairman, was formed for the management of the school at the local level. With the active co-operation of parents/ guardians, admission process was started. Total enrollments in the first session (2009-10) were five hundred and ninety three. The regular classes were started on 06-07-2009 with the classes from LKG to V and with eight teaching staff, one Headmistress, one ministerial staff and two non-teaching staff.The English medium school was established to provide quality Education to the children of project affiliated people. The education is free of cost. No fee is collected from the students. The project (SPL) provides all the finance support to the school. It also provides the student’s uniform, text books, note books, school bag and school shoes etc to students, free of cost.Thus the school was started and it is now running up to class VIII. The school has all the facilities of composite science lab, play ground, library, computer lab with the campus about six acres.
